The 2008 Parade of Homes is ramping up for the best Parade ever!  We have 12 Homes this year and are very excited!

The Parade is scheduled for September 12-14 2008, with the VIP Night on September 11th at the Great Northern Hotel. Tickets for VIP night are on sale August 18th and the cost is $75 per ticket.  It is going to tbe another first class HBIA Event.  We have nationally renowned speaker Al Trellis, who will be joining us during dinner, and the homes this year are spectacular!

The Parade Admission is $10 and the hours are:

Friday September 12

1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Saturday September 13

9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Sunday September 14

10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

The drives on us!

Park and ride a bus to the Parade of Homes.  Because gas prices are high and the Parade homes are scattered throughout the Helena valley, The HBIA Membership would like to thank you for your support by making Parade viewing easier.  Come to Lowe’s Home Improvement Center parking lot on Saturday, September 13, and Sunday, September 14, and leave the driving to us.  Buses are free to the public.

Parade participants will be able to tour a home for approximately 20 minutes before the bus leaves.  There will be four buses touring the Parade route.  Though bus routes may change to better accommodate participants there will be two buses touring the first half of the Parade and two buses touring the second half.  Buses one and two, which will be touring homes closer to the city, will return the Lowe’s parking lot approximately every three hours.  Buses three and four, which will be touring homes from the lakeside to Jefferson City, will return to the Lowe’s parking lot approximately every 4 hours.

Enjoy the Parade of Homes and leave the driving to the HBIA!

NAHB National Membership Day Results

We appreciate your creative and successful efforts in recruiting for the Big Hunt Membership Campaign! At the end of the day, May 20th, new membership pledges totaled 6,939—a combination of new members and council members. To many, that number was encouraging, particularly in today's uncertain economic climate.

North Carolina and Florida, with 780 and 745 new members respectively, captured the number one and two spots in the race to boost membership numbers in individual states. Texas and Wisconsin came in third and fourth. The highest-performing local HBAs were Helena (Montana) BIA, which added an impressive 266 new members, followed by MBA of King and Snohomish Counties, in Washington state, close behind with 210. Below is a more complete list of top performers.
